Bearded Dragons

We actually have 3 bearded dragons here at SWC and all of them are a little bit different. All of them were rescued as adults and we believe they all boys as well.

Oreo- We obtained Oreo in the summer 2021 and believe he was a year old. He is a leatherback bearded dragon meaning he is less spikey than a normal one. He is also a little squirrellier as well, which may be due to his younger age.

Fig- We rescued Fig back in the fall of 2021 and he is a silkie bearded dragon. This morph has been bred to have no scales. Fig was not taken care of well and has some lingering health issues due to this lack of care. However, with the proper care, Fig is now doing great!

Newton (pictured)- We rescued Newton along with Fig back in the fall of 2021 and he is a normal bearded dragon with an orange coloration. He is our calmer bearded dragons and loves meeting people and going to encounters.

You can meet any of our bearded dragons at your next Connection Encounter.

Favorite Treats: Crickets, superworms, and salads

Favorite Toy/Enrichment: swimming in the kiddie pool

Interesting Fact: Did you know bearded dragons get their names from their dark, spikey chins that like look a beard and their rough scaly skin that feels like a dragon? Now you do!
